When we're afraid to ask others for help, we act strange, vulnerable, or even cruel.
Our fear of asking for help is complex and multifaceted, but at its core is the feeling that we should be able to handle everything on our own and that if we ask others for help, we look like we're failing.
It's a vicious circle. We end up in situations where we only make things worse for ourselves and act awkwardly and self-consciously.
The solution is to ask others for help rather than try to do everything on your own.
